Buddies

We were a little worried how Rocky would react to Zoey once she got here but ever since we brought her home Rocky has been really sweet to Zoey. If she starts crying he will come up to her & sniff her & make sure she is ok. He has even brought her his bone a couple times. Here's some pictures of them together.Don't worry, I was sitting right next to them & after Josh snapped the picture I picked her up.

Rocky likes it when Zoey plays in the floor.

Zoey

I just realized this week I haven't updated since our little girl was born, mostly because we have been pretty busy. Zoey was born on November 19th at 8:40 PM. Labor went by really fast for me. I started having contractions that morning but they were 30 minutes apart so we decided to go see a movie to take my mind off of them. We went to see the new Harry Potter movie. About an hour and a half into the movie they were getting closer together so we decided to just head into the hospital since it is 20 minutes away from where we live. As soon as I stood up from the seat my water broke. We got to the hospital around 2:30 and she was here 6 hours later. She really wanted to meet us!Zoey weighed 6 lbs 1 oz and was 18.5 inches long
I try to keep her awake during the afternoons so she sleeps better at night so I like to take her picture :-) Here's some of those:

Weekly Check Up

Today we had our 2nd weekly doctor visit. The past week my back has been really hurting, almost as bad as before I had back surgery. We found out why today, Zoey finally dropped! I am still not dialated but she is progressing. We talked about the possibility of inducing since she is due around Thanksgiving. The doctor said she wants to wait until next week's appointment to see if the cervix will start to thin out. If it doesn't the induction wouldn't be successful & I definitely don't want a c-section. We are taking Rocky on longer walks at night now so hopefully we can get her to come sooner :-)

Weekly Doctor Visits

We are getting closer to Zoey's arrival so we now have weekly doctor visits. Yesterday was the first one. We got a good report for the most part. I am not dialated any and she has not dropped yet. But the doctor did estimate that Zoey weighs about 5 pounds now & if I go the full 40 weeks she won't be bigger than 7 pounds. Since I weighed 6 pounds when I was born the doctor is guessing Zoey will be between 6 to 6 1/2 pounds. I was very happy to hear this because Josh keeps teasing that we're going to have a 10 pound baby!
This weekend is Halloween. We are going to the Bell Air Show during the day with some good friends then pass out candy & watch a scary movie at home. We don't really dress up but we dress up our first kids (the animals!) Here's a picture of Rocky's costume. I made Jack a pirate outfit but he hates wearing it & runs away when I get it out so I don't have a picture of him in it.

Fall & 35 weeks

It's finally starting to feel like Fall! I am loving the cooler weather. Being pregnant when it is 107 outside was not fun. This weekend Josh & I decided to do some Fall activities. On Saturday we went to the Dallas Arboretum. They have a pumpkin village with thousands of pumpkins.Saturday morning I woke up to my hubby making me breakfast :-) He made homemade cinnamon sugar donuts. They were so good!! I should let him cook for me more often.Today I am now 35 weeks pregnant!! I can't believe this pregnancy has gone by so fast. We could be holding our baby girl any day now & I think we are both ready. I know I am! Mostly because being this pregnant is pretty uncomfortable. I have been lucky and have had a fairly easy pregnancy. I didn't start to get uncomfortable until the 3rd trimester. We have completely finished the nursery & we even installed the car seat this weekend, we are just waiting on her now!How far along? 35 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: +25 lbs
Maternity clothes? The only thing I can wear
Stretch Marks? Not yet, knock on wood!
Sleep: Pretty much have to have a daily nap now or put my feet up & relax for a little bit each day
Best moment this week: It was last week but I went to see Carrie Underwood with my mom & Zoey was moving the WHOLE time. She is def going to be a dancer like me :)
Movement: Pretty much all the time, I don't think she sleeps haha
Food Cravings/Aversions: Just hamburger meat & eggs

What I miss: Having energy
What I am looking forward to: Just waiting for her to arrive now!!
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy all the movements(even the painful kicks to the ribs) because soon she will be here

3/4 of the Way There!

On Sunday I will be 30 weeks so that means we are 3/4 of the way there! It's very exciting but I'm starting to get a little nervous! We are super busy until she gets here so it'll probably go by very fast.Zoey & I have matching pink Converse :-)
These are her cute pink Ugg boots
These are hanging above the changing table. The wall color looks weird in this picture so if it's hard to tell the wall is a lavender color & the letters are pink.
Next weekend we'll be back in Oklahoma for my baby shower so hopefully I'll get some good pics to post :-)

Baby Bump

I hadn't realized how big I have gotten until I was going through old pictures on my phone the other day. Here's a few belly pics to see how Zoey has grown.

We have our next doctor's appt tomorrow so I will have a recent ultrasound pic to post!

Nursery & Baby Bump

We have been very busy lately! One of the things we are busy with is getting Zoey's nursery together. The painting is done & as you can see I couldn't wait to put her bedding on the crib! We found a dresser/changing table in craigslist for only $50! It was a light brown so I'm painting it white & then pink on the drawers. I'm almost finished so I don't have a picture of it quite yet.
Here is a picture of my growing belly! I think I actually look pregnant now but some people still can't tell. Oh well, less weight to lose after :-) I am enjoying the 2nd trimester so much! Hopefully the 3rd will go by just as smoothly!

Zoey Grace Emerson

Well if you can't tell by the title of the post, we found out we're having a GIRL!! We are so excited! We thought we were having a boy so after we got over the initial shock we couldn't stop smiling. It makes it more real knowing the sex of the baby. Here is one of the ultrasound pictures from our appointment:She's getting so much bigger every time we get an ultrasound. We are almost half way there and it is going by so fast!!

Second Ultrasound

We had another doctor's appointment a week ago. Since it was too early to use a doppler to hear the heartbeat we got to have another ultrasound :-) I was happy because the baby actually looks like a baby this time! This is the baby at 11 weeks & 5 days.We have another doctor's appointment on Monday. We are getting some genetic testing done just to rule out some things we have in our families' medical history. We will be getting another sonogram that appointment as well!
Next weekend we are moving into our new house in Arlington. It's a little bigger & it is nicer also. We are getting the keys this weekend so I will post pictures of the house on our next post.
In 2 weeks we'll be in St Croix!! We are definitely ready for vacation. Might be the last big vacation for awhile so we are going to enjoy it :-)

Lots of Good News to Share!

It's been awhile since I've updated & a lot has happened since then!! First thing of course... We're having a baby!!!! We are so excited! It was unexpected but we couldn't be happier :-) Here's our first sonogram. It was almost 4 weeks ago (at 7 weeks pregnant) so our little peanut actually looks like a baby now.I have my next doctor's appt this Friday. I won't be getting another sonogram just yet though.
The next bit of good news is Josh is finally back at Flight Test. He has waited 10 months to be back at the job Bell hired him onto. He doesn't have mandatory overtime anymore either. Needless to say, I have my happy husband back!!
Since his job is now in Arlington we need to move closer so it isn't a minimum one hour drive for him to and from work. We went looking this past weekend and we fell in love with a house. We thought we were 3rd in line to get it but Josh called the owner on Sunday & he said he thought the house was perfect for us. God is definitely looking out for little family!

Christmas, A New Year, and Anniversary!

It's been a long time since I've updated but we have been super busy. Josh has mandatory over time right now so he has to work 60 hour weeks & my school semester has started. I thought I would catch everyone up on what has happened since my last post. We went back home to Oklahoma for Christmas. We had fun, especially since there was snow!

Rocky loved the snow! He stayed outside all day & chased Biscuit & the squirrels!

The whole family watched UP after we all opened presents :-)

Josh was sick the first part of the trip so he didn't get to enjoy all of the good food we had.

We were home in Texas for New Years. We were so tired from traveling we just stayed in and watch the New York NYE on TV.
On January 3rd, Josh & I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary! We didn't do anything special. We decided to wait & take a vacation this summer once Josh's mandatory over time is over & celebrate then. We did, however, eat our cake from our wedding & we bought a Wii!

My whole family is coming to visit next week & I am getting my hair done finally so I will have some more photos to post next weekend hopefully :-)
